Mr. Johanson is the owner and manager of the Gulp 'n' Blow who treats his employees with kindness and respect. A tall and strong man who does not tolerate seeing customers be rude to his employees, making him an exemplary diamond in the rough among managers.
During Sideshow Mel's brief time working at the Gulp 'n' Blow after the fall of Krusty the Clown to Gabbo, Mr. Johanson welcomed him with open arms and treated Mel with his special brand of respect which Mel greatly appreciated in contrast to Krusty's usual callous and disrespectful behavior.
