Coops is a popular beer brand produced by the Coops Brewery Company and sold all over Hawaii. It is featured in the 1980 detective television series Magnum, P.I., as well as it's 2018 reboot, Magnum P.I.
Overview[]
Coops as a company was first founded in the year 1917 by its founder J.L. Coops, whose quality brewing method served as the staple for the company's iconic beer which was made from only the finest selection of hops, malt and barley which gave the famous lager its beloved taste.
History[]
The famed Hawaii private detective, Thomas Magnum was notably an avid drinker of Coops, being his favorite beer alongside the equally popular Old Düsseldorf, with Magnum often drinking his favorite beers when relaxing, at a bar or even while on a case, although he would often find himself drinking Coops over Old Düsseldorf due to the latter's scarcity in Hawaii. When neither was available, he would usually settle for good old Flagler Beer.
In the 2018 reboot of Magnum P.I., the characters are often see drinking Coops beer, and the brand is even seen on large items, like semi tractor trailers.
